Tidings from the East

These first two months as your Worshipful Master have been a tremendous time for me, as I have already learned so much from all of you.  I
have learned that we have a Lodge full of talented men who love our fraternity, and want to see it continue to be relevant and meaningful.  I have learned that we have several brothers who will help us regardless of the task at hand, and I have learned that we are not obsolete in the 21st century, as several young and older men continue to petition tobecome Masons!

This Masonic year holds lots of promise for us as we move forward with several Lodge activities that will give people outside of our fraternity a chance to learn about us through participation in the Michigan Child ID Program, and our help with the new Miracle Field initiative for “Special Needs” children.

The “Masonic Renewals” presentations by Grand Lodge throughout the year are worth your time and effort to attend.  Refer to the trestleboard for future meeting dates.

Brothers, one of our most important decisions this year to make as a “Unified Lodge” is where our future Lodge will be! As you know, we
are having several building maintenance problems with our current location.  I hope that we can resolve differences and agree to find a new home that will provide the decorum and dignity befitting our rich traditions.

Fraternally,

Ron King Worshipful Master

Greetings from the West

The Worshipful Master, Officers and a number of members are already planning the year and have formed Committees.

If you have not been to the Lodge in a while come out and see us, we meet on Thursdays at 7:00pm, if you would like to eat with us, and dinner is ready around 6:00pm.

There is usually a practice, committee meeting or just plain fellowship on most Tuesdays, which usually includes a trip to Sean O’Callaghan’s for $2.00 burgers beforehand. You can also sign up for one of our Community Events like the Michigan Masonic Child Identification Program or you can help our Lodge Raise money for Our Special Needs Children Baseball team and Our Scholarship Program. Participation in one of the committees or Community events is a great way to meet the members of our Lodge.

If you would like more information, please feel free to give me a call. My number is 734-664-2818.

Sincerely,

Mark Campbell,

Senior Warden

Did you know . . . On July 31, 1826, the representatives of the Michigan Lodges assembled in the Masonic Hall in Detroit for the purpose of completing the organization of a Grand Lodge.

Greetings from the South

You may not be aware that, along with our weekly Thursday meetings, we have also been

gathering at the Lodge on a regular basis every Tuesday for fellowship and to help our

new members practice for their proficiencies. The number of brothers participating on

Tuesdays continues to increase each week, which makes for great fellowship.

As mentioned in the previous Trestleboard, I am also organizing Fellowship Breakfasts

randomly throughout the year at a variety of restaurants in our area and on different days

of the week. The number of brothers taking part in the breakfasts keeps increasing with

each new event, a very encouraging sign. If you are interested in participating please send

your e-mail address to me at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . If you do not use e-mail and still

would like to join us in the Fellowship Breakfasts, give me a call at 313-920-8300 and I will

keep you apprised of future dates by phone.

A reminder… we have two Texas Hold’em events, which raise money for our scholarship

and T-ball programs, scheduled for the summer. The first event will be June 4-7 at Vision

Lanes on Ford Road in Westland, and the second event will be July 5-8 at Doc’s Sports

Retreat in Livonia. Brothers will be needed to staff these events, so please contact me for

more details and to volunteer.

Be Well,

Brother Q.
