Trestle Board November 2011
Plymouth Rock Lodge #47
November and December 2011 Trestleboard

Tidings from the East,
As my year continues to wind down as your Worshipful Master, the enthusiasm that you, the active brothers, generate in the Lodge continues to go up. Moreover, you are awesome in your efforts to make this the best Masonic Lodge in Michigan, and I could not be more proud to be a part of it all.
We displayed our commitment to honoring our members by having a wonderful
Widows and Life Members Dinner in September. All those who came to the dinner had a great time as we celebrated the several lifetime members and thanked them for showing us the way for so many years. Also, the Senior Warden’s Dinner in October was a super fun filled night that gave us a chance to bond with our fellow brothers from other lodges, and to humble the Senior Warden! In addition, I, along with the Junior and Senior Wardens, attended the Grand Lodge sponsored Lodge Management and Leadership Class in Romulus. The all-day class was informative, and is one class that all Masons should attend as they continue to find their own Masonic pathway.
The next correspondence from me will be as the Past Master who will be welcoming our new Worshipful Master and his officers. In the meantime, please come to your Lodge, support it, embrace it, make it better than you found it, and
endeavor to do good works for your brothers. It’s a great time to be a Mason!
Fraternally,
Ron King

Greetings from the West,
This has been a great year at Plymouth Rock Lodge, we have had great success in fund raising for our charities and I would like to thank Brother Dennis Quatrine for organizing the Texas Hold’em and for all the Brothers that have come out to help. We have had a couple Texas Hold’em events that helped raise some money that is needed to support our High School Scholarships, Child ID events and other charities.
As you know we’ve moved and have a new location at the Plymouth Elks Lodge on Plymouth Rd. We are in the process of making it our home. If you have not been to Lodge in a while come out and see us, we meet on Thursdays at 7:00pm, if you would like grab a bite to eat before lodge, we are usually there around 6:00pm. After lodge we usually hang around for an hour or two for fellowship.
On Tuesdays we have the Lodge reserved for fellowship, committees and degree practice. We are usually there around 6:00pm for dinner. We could use some help on committees and also with the degrees.
Our next Child ID event is Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Canton Walmart on
Ford Rd just east of I-275. We will be there between 11:00am-3:00pm. Stop by and say Hi. Participation in one of the committees or Community events is a great way to meet the Officers and members of our Lodge. If you would like more information about committees and events or would like to sign up to help, to
give me a call. My number is 734-664-2818.
Sincerely,
Mark Campbell
Senior Warden

From the South,
As you all know Worshipful Master had our Lodge go dark this past summer. I would like to thank him for doing so. Going dark did not stop us from having fellowship in the warm summer months, or from doing the work of the Lodge. We had our Lodge picnic, a number of fellowship breakfasts, two highly profitable
fundraisers, and a successful Child I.D. event at the Willow Run Air show, all while being “dark” in the summer. Yet “going Dark” allowed us to return to Lodge in September with rejuvenation and a more “sense of purpose” as we returned to
continue the work of the craft. Events for the 2012 Lodge year are already well in the planning including Fundraisers, Child I.D., Cub Scouts, and more. Great things are happening through Grand Lodge, and our officers have been actively participating in these Grand Lodge events. It is a great time to be a Mason.
Eat Well, Be Well.

Brother William Gripman has enlisted in the US Navy and leave for boot camp on February 22, 2012. We wish him a speedy return.
I am getting inquires about Masonry but due to the economy people are a little hesitant about making a commitment. This year the Lodge had to drop eight members from the rolls for non payment of dues. We have 3 petitions put on hold for various reasons. 2 are being investigates and we will ballot on them at our
next Regular on November. I also received two new petitions that the Lodge will read on November 3rd.
Important upcoming events: This year the Lodge decided to move our Annual Thanksgiving dinner to Saturday November 19th, at 5:00 p.m. to accommodate our special needs children.
Election of Officers for 2012, Thursday November 3rd.
Annual Memorial and Communication December
1st. Installation of Officers December 3rd. For reservations call Dennis Quatrine at (313) 920-8300.
I wish to thank Budding Flowers for providing the Flowers for our Widows in the Masonic Pathways and our Lodge Installation, and at no cost to the Lodge, Budding Flowers provided the Acacias that the Lodge uses for our Masonic Memorials. Thank you Budding Flowers.
There comes a time in your life when you have to make a change and move on. I have decided to step aside as Lodge secretary and start a new page in my life. I thank everyone for their support over the years.
I knocked at Heaven’s door. God asked me, my child what can I do for you? I said: Father, please protect and bless the person reading this. Until we meet again “God Bless”
