Secretary’s Corner
Welcome to Bro.s John Cumming, and P. Eric Hottenstein on their
transfers from other Michigan Lodges. Congratulations to Dennis Frye
our Mason of the Year for 2008.
On behalf of the Officers I would like to thank David Lindsay for purchasing 2 Poinsettias
and delivering them to Julia Parnacott and Verna Berecky in the Alma Masonic Home.
Brother Dave has done this for the past 10 years that I know of.
Last year (2007) we had a very busy year with 12 Business meeting, 19 Special meetings,
and 5 Memorial, along with participating in Plymouth 4th July Parade and a Corner Stone
Laying Ceremony at out site of our old building. Plymouth Rock raised 6 new Master
Masons along with 1 restoration, 3 Transfers from others Lodges, and we are waiting on
final paperwork for 1 more transfers and will ballot on 2 more members for restoration in
January. There is still 1 Entered Apprentice and 1 Fellow Craft to complete; due to their
work schedule they have been unable to finish their Degrees. Our Members also spent
countless hours at the new Lodge getting it into shape for our use. We had 8 dinners for
ourselves this year and cooked 8 Charity breakfasts at the Plymouth Elks along Several
members made 12 visits to members who were in the hospital or at home ill, and last we
had 10 Officers practice and 2 Schools of instructions.
This year will be starting a little slower than the past couple of years. In 2008 we will have 3
members eligible for 40 years, 5 eligible for 50-year, 5 eligible for 60-year, and 1 eligible 70-
year recipient.
Brothers and our Widows this is just a reminder but if you move please let me know so I
can keep your mail going to the right address. I have 150 pieces of mail returned each year
for unable to deliver because a member has moved.
Special Thanks
On behalf of the Lodge I would like to thank the following members for their
donations since our last Trestleboard, Clifford Smith, John Allison, Gordon
Sutton, Wilmer Norris, Matt Turnbull, Raymond Michaels, Charles Cox,
Dennis Frye, and Wilfred Robinson.
In Our Thoughts
Gordon Sutton sent me a letter and asked me to tell everyone Hi to all and have a very
Happy Holiday Season, and if you ever go to Florida stop in he would like to see you.
Don and Kathleen Grupa sent a Christmas Picture that said “We miss our family at
Plymouth Rock”. The Lodge also misses them and their children Wyatt, Ella, and Thomas.
Julia Parnacott sent a card thanking the Lodge for her Poinsettia and had it placed in the
Chapel for everyone to enjoy this Holiday season.
God Bless
Al Booth Sr
